MICK MATTEO is a 30 year old, self-proclaimed bastard who’s just touched down in his hometown of San Francisco after a two-year hiatus abroad.
With a rotting gut caused by copious alcohol consumption and a penchant for illicit sex and drugs, Matteo immediately catches up with his one friend who shares his desire for toxic intake. More than happy to welcome Mick back into his lonely world, Case lets Mick stay at his flat while he settles in to what he hopes will be a new constructive phase of his menial existence.
Landing a job at at Beenz coffee house drops him in a milieu of an interesting clan including a Bagel-slinging speed freak, a skating dope smoker and a young Mexican girl who he feels might be able to settle him down.
Things are going smoothly for Mick at the coffee house with Roxanna giving signs she may reciprocate his affections. Even Case has landed the Peruvian Panty Whore he’s been chasing.
But when Mick runs into an old flame at a friend’s house party, his game is thrown in a new direction. Misty was the one that got away, the one Mick never got over because they’d never been able to truly give in to each other. She’s been in and out of abusive relationships and is now in her worst one. With Mick now in the picture, all she wants is for him to sweep her away to a place where she can be safe and free. All he needs is a job with the Chinese mob and enough money to get her to Mexico.
